US--Trump-Offshore Wind

Trump administration to buy back another energy company's offshore wind leases for 4 more projects

SUMMARY: The Trump administration says it’s buying back another energy company’s U.S. offshore wind leases for four more wind projects, bringing the total amount spent on these agreements to nearly $2.6 billion. Chicago-based Invenergy has agreed to end its four offshore wind leases that were very early in development in exchange for reimbursements of lease fees totaling $765 million. The company had already canceled the Leading Light Wind project off New Jersey’s coast. The others are off the coasts of Maine and California. It will invest in natural gas and geothermal projects instead. The Republican administration is stopping offshore wind farms that President Donald Trump doesn't support, and redirecting the money to fossil fuel projects that he does.

BBO--Scorer's Decision-First Win

Nationals reliever Paxton Schultz awarded first big league win thanks to obscure scoring rule

SUMMARY: Nationals reliever Paxton Schultz has his first career victory thanks to a rarely seen official scorer’s decision. Schultz pitched a scoreless eighth inning Tuesday night in Washington’s 6-4 victory over Kansas City. The Nationals were already up 6-3 when he entered the game, but that didn’t preclude Schultz from receiving the win. Richard Lovelady, the reliever who would normally have gotten the win, was deemed to have had a brief and ineffective appearance. In the top of the seventh, Washington was up 3-1 when Lovelady entered with one out and two on. He retired two of the three men he faced, but the one batter who reached against him was Isaac Collins, whose two-run single tied the game at 3. That was enough to transfer the win to Schultz.

Mariners activate Raleigh and Crawford but put Arozarena on 10-day injured list

SUMMARY: Seattle Mariners catcher Cal Raleigh has been reinstated from the 10-day injured list. He was in the lineup and behind the plate Tuesday night as the Mariners returned home for their series opener against the Baltimore Orioles. Raleigh had been out since May 14 with a right oblique strain, the first IL stint of his career. The slugger was runner-up in AL MVP voting last season after hitting 60 home runs. Seattle also activated veteran shortstop J.P. Crawford, who had been on the injured list since June 5 after being hit in the hand by a pitch. He promptly moved to third base with rookie Colt Emerson at shortstop. In another move, outfielder Randy Arozarena was placed on the 10-day injured list with a left hamstring strain.

The Super Bowl-starved Jets find some 'positive jealousy' and motivation in NBA champion Knicks

SUMMARY: Breece Hall watched as the New York Knicks celebrated their NBA championship last Saturday night. The New York Jets running back felt thrilled but also expressed "positive jealousy" after the Knicks won their first championship since 1973 by beating the Spurs in five games.
