PARSONSBURG - Mary Elizabeth Bedsworth Andersen died Friday, April 6, 2018, at Genesis Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born in Parsonsburg, her parents were the late Betty Mae and Norman Jerome Bedsworth. She was widowed at an early age and joined the Army, where she served during the late 1940s to 1950. She met her second husband, Wayne Elvin Andersen, while in the Army. She earned a Bachelor's degree in Nutrition from the University of Maryland Princess Anne campus in 1970. During her lifetime, she lived in Florida and Salisbury and worked as a nutritionist and caregiver. She is survived by her children, James "Scott" Andersen of Seaford, Jean Lemay of Locust Grove, Va., Thomas Andersen and Benjamin Charles Andersen of Salisbury; seven grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Ann Wells and Norma Jane Ward. Interment will be at Wicomico Memorial Park. A private family gathering will be held in her memory. Arrangements are in the care of Holloway Funeral Home in Salisbury.
