SALISBURY - Mary Elizabeth Hooks, 78, of Salisbury, died on Monday, Aug. 27, 2018, at Peninsula Regional Medical Center. Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Connelly and Isabella Gallagher-Connelly. She was a member and past president of Happy Timers. She and her late husband owned and operated Outa'r'gourds crafts, and were involved with the National Gourd Society. She is survived by five children, Theresa M. Shores, Robert K. Stancil Jr., Anthony D. Stancil, Deborah A. Stancil-Beshears and Steven M. Stancil; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Cathy Henderson; and three brothers, Tom Connelly, Jack Connelly and Jimmy Connelly. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Norman M. Hooks; and two brothers, Joseph Connelly and Francis Gallagher. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are in the care of Holloway Funeral Home in Salisbury.
