Marva Elaine Hull Johnson

Johnson, 78 Marva Elaine Hull Johnson, 78, departed this life on Saturday, May 31, 2014 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center. Born in Salisbury, she was the daughter of the late Hillery James Hull, Sr. and Mamie Frances Leatherbury Hull. She taught for over 46 years for the Wicomico County Board of Education. After completing her under-graduate work from Bowie State (now University) and graduate work at the University of Maryland College Park and Salisbury State College (now University), she taught at the following schools, Salisbury Elementary, West Salisbury, Sharptown Elementary, North Salisbury, Salisbury First Grade Center and Chipman Elementary. She was a member of the St. James AME Zion Church, where she had served on various committees. She is survived by three sisters, Annie Dent, Tyree Padgett and Mamie Bratten, all of Salisbury; 2 brothers, Hillery Hull, Jr. (Majorie) of Salisbury and George Hull of Clinton, NC; several nieces and nephews; and a devoted friend of over 50 years, Barbara Bennett of Salisbury. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 4 brothers, Jacob, James, Philip and Otis; and a sister, Vernetta Robinson.
