SALISBURY - Marlene Yvette "Muddy Putty" Royal died Sunday, Feb. 25, 2018, at University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore. Born in Salisbury, she was the daughter of the late Otis Strozier and Janet Dashiell Hayman. She was also the stepdaughter of the late Willie Watkins. She was a 1967 graduate of the former Salisbury High School and a member of their Alumni Association. She retired after 30 years as the director of the Wicomico County Housing Authority. She was a member of Mills Memorial Baptist Church in Salisbury. Her survivors include one son, Allan Royal of Salisbury; five grandchildren; one great-grandson; and a brother, Derrick Everett of Smryna. Her husband, William Royal, died in 1996; a daughter, Yolanda Royal, died in 1995. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, March 10, 2018, at New Dimensions Family Ministries in Salisbury, where friends may view two hours prior to service. Interment will be in Green Acres Memorial Park in Salisbury. Arrangements are in the care of Lewis N. Watson Funeral Home in Salisbury.
