Marie B. Gunby, 88 GRASONVILLE - Marie B. Gunby, 88, of Grasonville, formerly of Cambridge, passed away on Friday, Nov. 27, 2009, at the Heartland House in Grasonville. She was born in Laurel, Del., on Aug. 13, 1921, and was a daughter of the late Robert S. and Bernice Hastings Brock. Mrs. Gunby graduated from Laurel High School and attended two years of College. She married Walter E. Gunby, Jr., M.D. He passed away on May 28, 1986. She worked with her husband in his medical practice. She enjoyed baking. She was survived by her two sons Walter B. Gunby and his wife Carol A. Gunby of East New Market and Richard E. Gunby of Graham, NC and a brother Jesse Brock and wife Chris of Seaford, a nephew Stephen Brock, a niece Leah Brock, step grandson Jeff Linthicum and wife Marybeth, step great grandchildren Jenna and Will Linthicum. Besides her parents and her husband, Mrs. Gunby is preceded in death by a brother Joseph Joines of Virginia. A memorial service will be 11 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 8, at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A., in Cambridge, with Rev. Randall T. Blackmon officiating. Interment will be private.
