Manuel Lane

SALISBURY - Manuel Lane, Jr., died on Tuesday, Apr. 4, 2017, at Peninsula Regional Medical Center. Born in Denton, he was the son of the late Manuel and Cora Lane.
With more than 22 years of service in the U.S. Navy as a Submarine Electrician, he was Honorably Discharged in 1974. He worked as an electrician in various companies on the Eastern Shore and was a life member of the American Legion Post No. 64 Salisbury. He was also a life member of VFW Post No. 194 and a member of the fraternal order of Eagles No. 5403.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 28 years, Virginia May Lane; and a brother, Mark Cole.
He is survived by three daughters, Marylou Creighton, Teddy McQuade and Grace Oplinger; three sons, Walter G. Dill, John M. Dill and Manuel Lane, IV; brothers, Walter Lane and James Nate Cole; sisters, Anna Courtney and Lidia Lockner; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A funeral service was held Tuesday, Apr. 11, 2017, at Holloway Funeral Home in Salisbury. Burial was in Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery with full military honors.
