Mamie C. Linton

MARION - Mamie C. Linton of Marion, formerly of Pasadena, died Fri., July 5, 2013 at her home. Born in LaGrange, N.C. on Sept. 11, 1928, she was a daughter of the late Leslie Hubert and Effie Ellen Stafford Winstead. Her husband, William L. Linton, preceded her in death in 1993. She had been making her home in Marion for the past 30 years. She was retired from the former Carvel Hall Cutlery in Crisfield. She loved her family, and she enjoyed life to the fullest. Along with her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters, Thomas Winstead, Hazel Jarman, Willie Winstead, Lillie Winstead, Irene Whaley, Lawrence Winstead and David Winstead. She is survived by three children, Annie Linton of Marion, Nina Lou Gallion of N.C., and Joseph Lee Smith, III "Joe Boy" of Ridge, Md.; a sister, Dorothy Lou Barrow and husband Charles of Dover, N.C.; 12 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Mon., July 8, 2013 at 7 p.m. at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home in Crisfield where friends called one hour prior. The graveside committal service was Tues., July 9, 2013 at 1 p.m. at Meadowridge Memorial Park in Elkridge. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Coastal Hospice, P.O.
