M. Kathryn Laird, 100

BUFFALO, N.Y. - M. Kathryn Laird, formerly of Crisfield, died Sunday, July 5, 2009, in Buffalo. She was 100. Born in Crisfield Jan. 22, 1909, she was the daughter of the late Levi Laird and Lula League Laird. She was a self employed hairdresser for many years. She was a member of the Immanuel United Methodist Church in Crisfield. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Arthur, Leslie, and John Laird; two sisters, Evelyn Blades and Grace Dunn; and a nephew, Robert Laird. Surviving is her sister, Rebecca Cavender of Portsmouth, Va.; nieces, Jeanne Laird and Mary Lou Sticht of Cheektowaga, N.Y., Pat Mills of Crisfield, Deanna Feeser of Glenville, Pa., and Janet Monday of Portsmouth, Va.; and nephews, Don Blades of Salisbury, Dan Blades of Bowie, and Jim Cavender of North Carolina. Private memorial services will be held at a later date at the Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home in Crisfield. In her memory, donations may be made to the Immanuel United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, c/o Robert H. Bradshaw Jr., 306 W. Main St., Crisfield, MD 21817.
