CAMBRIDGE - Luzetta C. Major, 71, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 23, 2006, at her home after a lengthy illness.
Born April 18, 1935, in Dorchester County, she was the daughter of the late James and Mary Wilson Bryant.
She attended the public schools in Dorchester County and was a housewife and mother.
She enjoyed playing the piano, cooking, gardening and decorating before she became ill.
Mrs. Major is survived by her husband of 37 years, Edward Major Jr. of Cambridge; two sons, Dynell Thompson and his companion, Teresa and Ozell Major and his wife, Tamra, all of Cambridge; two daughters, Montoria Murry and her husband, Michael of Cambridge and Theresa Major and her companion, Carlton of Fort Myers, Fla.; a brother, Overseer Francis Bryant and his wife, Dorothy of Cambridge) and a number of grandchildren, great grandchildren, sisters in-law, brothers in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Walt Bryant, George Bryant and James Bryant Jr.; four sisters, Mildred McNara, Emma Johnson, Mary Wheatley and Gladys Edmonds and nine siblings who passed at childbirth.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, at St. John Holiness Church with the Rev. John Cornish officiating. Burial will follow in Bethel Cemetery.
There will be a viewing held tonight from 7-8 at the Henry Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.
