Lt. Gov. Anthony Brown thanks voters in his run for governor

Eighteen months ago, we came together to launch this campaign - and we began by talking to our friends and neighbors about the values and goals we share for Maryland.

We stood up for working families, and fought to strengthen the middle class and create jobs and opportunities for more Marylanders.

Tuesday night, we fell short of our goal. But it does not diminish the incredible work that each and every one of you has done in your community to better our state.

Every door knock, every phone call, every conversation with friends about our vision for a better Maryland was a recommitment to our shared values.

So thank you - for your time, your friendship, and your commitment to Ken and me.

This campaign ends, but our work continues. We won’t abandon the priorities we’ve spent so much time and energy fighting for. I congratulate Governor Elect Hogan and I wish him the best as he leads our state.

I will never forget the love, support, and encouragement from each and every one of you from Hagerstown to Baltimore to Ocean City.

Thank you for being a part of the Brown-Ulman family. I am eternally grateful.
