Wongus Schley, 56 CAMBRIDGE - Linda Carol Wongus Schley, passed from life to immortality on Friday, July 27, 2012 at her home in Washington, DC. She was the 5th of 6 siblings born on March 14, 1956 to Alamae M. Wongus and the late Daniel E. Wongus, Sr. Linda left Cambridge shortly after graduating from Cambridge Sr. High School with the class of 1974. One of her favorite activities was as a cheerleader for the Cambridge High School Raiders. Her biggest passion in life was her daughter, Necole. Even through the storms and trials of life, she was determined to provide a life for her one and only child, her first true love. When Linda began her career as a very talented beautician, she had found her other passion. She was known for her ability to turn anyone's head into a masterpiece. Linda never met anyone she didn't like. Her smile was so contagious you couldn't help but welcome her into your world, and she into yours. The affect she had on all she met created friendships that followed her from childhood until her transition into immortality. Linda was raised to love the Lord. Her parents made certain the evidence of God's grace and mercy was always there for us all, all you have to do is call on him to help you. Her church home is Waugh Chapel United Methodist Church in Cambridge. She later found her way to Morning Star Baptist Church where she shared with family of her new-found love and appreciation of her Saviour. She leaves to cherish her memory, her loving daughter, Necole Williams (Allen); four granddaughters, Kayla, Brittany and Bryana; one grandson, Allen, Jr.; her mother Alamae Wongus of Cambridge, Md.; two sisters, Patricia Artis (Isaac) of Greenville, N.C.; and Brenda Davis (Frederick) of Cambridge, Md; two brothers, Daniel Wongus, Jr. and Harold Wongus, both of Cambridge, Md.; a dear sister-in-law, Rolanda H. Wongus of Decatur, Ga.; one uncle, Paul Marchbanks of Knoxville, Tenn.; two aunts, Fannie Marchbanks of Knoxville, Tenn. and lone Marchbanks of McMinnville, Tenn.; her ex-husband, Mark Schley who has remained a part of her life; The Women's collective; Friends of Bill; and a host of other cousins; nieces; nephews; relatives; and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Daniel Sr., and her brother, Donald R. Wongus Sr. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Sept. 15, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Waugh Chapel United Methodist Church, 425 High Street, Cambridge, MD.
