CAMBRIDGE - Lillian E. Hachemeister, formerly of Cambridge and formerly of Rockdale, died Saturday, April 11, 2009, in the Dorchester General Hospital. She was 91. Born Dec. 12, 1917, in Glyndon, she was the daughter of the late Howard and Bessie Chaney Whittle. She was the wife of the late C. Irving Hachemeister. Lillian had been a homemaker for most of her life. In her younger years she had worked as a clerk for a pharmacy in Rockdale. She had been a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter 87, Ladies Oriental Shrine of North America, Daughters of the Nile, Bou-Tem-Sci- Club and the Cedarettes of Baltimore. She enjoyed duck pin bowling in her younger years. She is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Charles I. Jr. and Kathy Hachemeister of Cambridge; grandchildren, Charles I. Hachemeister III and Dawn Marie Ellis; great-grandchildren, Rachel Hachemeister and Zachary and Matthew Eillis; nephew, Don Bartas and niece, Carolyn Lechner. She was predeceased by siblings, Charles and Mike Whittle, Marguerite Williams and Elizabeth Bartas. A funeral service will be held on Thursday at 10 a.m. at the Haight Funeral Home & Chapel (6416 Sykesville Road,) Sykesville, with Pastor Jay Hurley officiating. Interment will be in Lake View Memorial Park. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday and 9 a.m. until the time of the service on Thursday at the funeral home.
