Leonard L. Barrett, 92 EDEN - Leonard Livingston Barrett died Monday, June 1, 2020, at Salisbury Rehabilitation & Nursing Center. Born in Livingston, Jamaica, his parents were the late Zephaniah Alexander Barrett and Louise Graham Barrett. He came to the United States as a young man, after receiving his formal education in the public school system in Jamaica. He worked numerous jobs, but primarily factory and yard work. For several years, he enjoyed farming, and raised pigs and goats. He retired from his employment at the former A&P Supermarket in Fruitland. He is survived by his wife of more than 40 years, Virginia Barrett of Eden; his daughters, Avis Forbes of Brooklyn, N.Y., Bernice Williams of Salisbury and Renee Edmonds of Camden, N.J.; a son, Lonnie Frank Burke of Princess Anne; 10 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and 11 siblings. In addition to his parents, a son, Winston Barrett, preceded him in death. A funeral service was held Friday, June 5, 2020, at Jolley Memorial Chapel in Salisbury.
