POCOMOKE CITY — It’s difficult to eat healthy around the holidays, but the Worcester County Health Department is taking out some of the guesswork by sponsoring free grocery store tours in December. One of them is at the Pocomoke Walmart Supercenter 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 2.
It will be led by a registered and licensed dietitian. The tour will help participants navigate the grocery store aisles and locate the most nutritious foods. Empahsis will be placed on learning how to choose the healthiest food for the best price, common items to avoid while shopping, as well as how to understand nutrition labels.
Pre-registration is encouraged. All participants will receive a free, reusable grocery tote bag. A nutrious diet, when combined with moderate phsyical activity, can greatly reduce risk factors for many preventable diseases. So remember: Eat Healthy. Be Active. Prevent Diabetes Today.
