SALISBURY - Laura "Janice" Barbarow Heath Truitt died Thursday, Oct. 13, 2016, surrounded by family at Coastal Hospice at the Lake. Born on the family farm in Troy, W.Va., to the late E. Berkley and Nellie A. Barbarow, she graduated from Troy High School and attended Glenville State College. After college she came to Salisbury, where she met and married Robert Lee Heath. Following his death in 1983, she married the late Maurice Truitt. She was preceded in death by her twin brother, Berkley Barbarow, Jr.; and her sisters, Marie Flatherty, Marjorie Woofter and Betty Bracco. She is survived by two daughters, Karen West and Sharon Foskey; three grandchildren; a brother, Donald Barbarow; two sisters, Lois Bode and Phyllis Ruppert; and 13 nieces and nephews. A longtime member of Bethesda United Methodist Church, she recently attended Faith Community Church and was a member of American Legion Auxiliary Unit 64. She worked for several real estate firms in Salisbury as an accountant/bookkeeper. A funeral service was held Monday, Oct. 17, 2016, at Holloway Funeral Home in Salisbury. Burial was in Wicomico Memorial Park.
