L. Thomas Williams

CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. - L. Thomas Williams (Tom), passed away peacefully Sunday, May 11, 2014 at North Broward Hospice in Pompano Beach, Fla. He was born Dec. 19, 1946 in Fort Benning, Ga. and was the son of the late Barbara J. Lankford of Cambridge, Md. and the late Lloyd T. Williams of New York. Tom attended schools in New York and Cambridge where he was raised at Higgins Mill Pond, Aireys, Md. He graduated from Cambridge High School in 1964 and attended the University of Maryland, College Park. After leaving Maryland, he lived in Ohio for several years before relocating to Maryland and finally, Florida where he worked as a successful aftermarket manager at a leading car dealership. He then became a mortgage broker in Coral Springs, Fla. until a debilitating stroke in 2005. He was a member of the St. Mary Magdalene Church in Coral Springs and spent his time in the sun and also watching golf and other sports. Tom is survived by two children, Tracy Luchtenberg and her husband James of Lithia, Fla., and Karmin Williams and her mother, Charlene Baker of Ruskin, Fla. He also leaves behind two brothers, William P. Windsor, Jr. and fiancée, Kimberly Rice of Suwanee, Ga., and Kevin McCray and his wife, Joanne of Melbourne Australia and four sisters, Barbara Lee Williams of Vienna, Md., Pixie Windsor of Washington, D.C., Karen McCray Rounsley and her husband Matthew of Salisbury, and Wendy Windsor Ashburn of La Plata; and several nieces and nephews along with his cousin, Deidre Gerlach of Coral Springs, Fla. who was also his caregiver over the last several years. Tom will be cremated and laid to rest in the family cemetery at Higgins Mill Pond, Aireys, MD.
