Karen L. Abbott

LINKWOOD - Karen L. Abbott passed away on Friday, Feb. 23, 2018 at UMSMC at Dorchester with her family by her side. She was born in Honga on Nov. 8, 1946 and was a daughter of the late James Franklin Delaha and Margie Louise Jenkins Delaha.
Mrs. Abbott attended schools in South Dorchester. She was a bar tender and waitress for several restaurants in Cambridge. On Oct. 2, 1988, she married Steven W. Abbott. Mrs. Abbott loved spending time with her grandchildren and was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Cambridge.
She is survived by her husband, Steve Abbott of Linkwood; a daughter, Kimberly Dawn Yaap and husband Stewart of Cambridge; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Besides her parents, Mrs. Abbott was preceded in death by a son, Kris Elzey.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are in the care of the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.
