CRISFIELD —If you’re age 7-14 and looking for a summer youth program then consider enrolling in the Maryland Junior Ranger Program at Janes Island State Park.

There is a session Tuesday-Thursday June 23-25 from 9 a.m. to noon each day. Participants will explore the park’s natural and historical areas, learn about conservation and stewardship, take part in crabbing, fishing, archery and more.

Janes Island includes the mainland portion with the campground’s 103 campsites, rental cabins, lodge, picnic areas, pavilions and boat ramp and marina. The island — Janes Island — accessible only by boat, includes over 2,900 acres of saltmarsh and more than 30 miles of water trails and miles of isolated pristine beaches.

To register for the Junior Ranger Program call 410-968-1565. The fee is $35 plus $20 for any additional child in the same household.
