Julian Kenneth Blake
SALISBURY - Julian Kenneth Blake, 58, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 17, 2008 at Peninsula Regional Hospital Medical Center in Salisbury.
Born Oct. 13, 1949, he was the son of Cleo Blake–Bowe and the son of the late James Matthews.
He received his education in the public schools of Dorchester County with the Class of 1968 of Mace's Lane High School.
Kenneth's earlier employment included R.J. Reynolds, Dishroom, Inc. and presently American Paving Corp. for 15 years in Salisbury.
"Pudding" as everyone called him, loved his family. He was so well known in his neighborhood of 749 South Division St. that when he wasn't working he became the babysitter. He walked them to the bus, from the bus and made sure that they stayed on their porch until their parents arrived.
Kenneth and Gilda (his special friend) were known as the babysitters. They acquired so many nieces and nephews. There are ribbons tied around their tree in front of their house as a reminder of him.
Kenneth enjoyed playing cards (spades) and watching movies old and new, being the biggest teaser and entertaining on the porch.
In addition to his mother, Cleo Blake Bowe, Kenneth is survived by a sister, Judith Burke Blake, both of Cambridge; three sons, Jaun Lee of Princess Anne, Eric Lee of Cambridge and Julian Kenneth Blake Jr. of Easton; a daughter, Cheemondia Blake of Easton; 11 grandchildren; a special niece, Robbin Burke Lake (Dontaye) of Baltimore; two great-uncles, Charles and Steven Blake, both of Cambridge; five aunts in Delaware; a special friend of 18 years, Gilda Church; a stepdaughter, Ronnetta; an adopted son, Travis Pugh of Salisbury; a close neighbor, Barbara and David of "Cakes by David Bakery" and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
