Joseph Lingan Theophilus Spicer, 79 SEAFORD, Del. - Joseph Lingan Theophilus Spicer, 79, passed away on Monday, July 14, 2008 at Lofland Care in Seaford. He was born at Golden Hill on Aug. 4, 1928 and was a son of Levin Theophilus and Ethel Robinson Spicer. Mr. Spicer graduated from Cambridge High School in 1946. He served in the Army National Guard. He worked for DuPont for over 40 years and retired on Dec. 31, 1991. On Dec. 30, 1988 he married the former R. Elaine Hughes. Some of his hobbies were gardening, wood working and being out on the water. He is survived by his wife, R. Elaine Spicer of Seaford; a daughter, Donna Carter and husband, Wayne of Seaford and a son, Jon Spicer of Seaford; a grandson, Christopher Prine of Seaford; three sisters, Doris Dove of Salisbury, Ruth Gray of Cambridge and Ann Eberspacher of Cambridge; a cousin, David Blisard of Cambridge; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Fehsenfeld; two aunts, Evelyn Webster, Alexina Blisard and a nephew, Stevie Dove. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. today at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge with the Rev. A. Delmer Willey Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Dorchester Memorial Park. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Pallbearers will be Alan Mitchell, Lee Gray, Wayne Carter, Christopher Prine, Fulton Thomas and Russell Gray. Honorary Pallbearer will be Allen Keene. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to a charity of one's choice.
