DELMAR - John S. Bridge died Saturday, Dec. 17, 2016, at Coastal Hospice at the Lake in Salisbury. Born in Dunbarton, N.H., he was the son of the late Austin and Marybell Bridge. A U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, he attended Drexel Institute in Philadelphia. He began his career as a route supervisor for The Daily Times in Salisbury and later owned and operated the Bivalve Market in Bivalve. He attended Melson's United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife, Patsy Bridge; two children by his first marriage, John Raymond Bridge and Debbie Iafelice; three stepdaughters, Cindy Dayton, Sandy Rose and Misty Fields; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Vernon and Raymond Bridge; and two stepsons, Buddy and Timmy. A funeral service was held Friday, Dec. 23, 2016, at Short Funeral Home in Delmar. Interment was held at St. Stephens Cemetery in Delmar.
