He was a member of the VFW, Kiwanis, Salvation Army, Salisbury Rotary Club, past house chairman of Green Hill Yacht & Country Club and a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church. He and his family moved to Salisbury in 1968, where he managed Coca Cola plants in Salisbury, Easton, and Blytheville, Ark. Later in his career he became comptroller for Wootten Welding Supplies in Salisbury, where he retired in 1989. He is survived by his daughters, Maria Michele Evans of Salisbury and Michelle Barney Ritch of Fruitland; four grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Mary Nancy Barney in 2006. A Mass of Christian Burial was held Friday at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Salisbury.
