CAMBRIDGE - John J. "Joey" Brown, III, passed away on Monday, Mar. 13, 2017, at UMSMC at Dorchester. He was born on Dec. 24, 1989, and was a son of Kim Cochran Brown and John Brown, Jr.
Joey graduated from Cambridge South Dorchester High School class of 2009. He worked on the water and he enjoyed crabbing, fishing, and bowling. Joey especially loved his nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Donald Stanton; and paternal grandparents, John Brown, Sr. and Evelyn Brown.
Besides his parents, Joey is survived by two brothers and a sister, Jeffrey Cochran and wife, Donna, of Cambridge, Jamie Brown and wife, Jessica, of Cambridge and Ariel Brown, of Cambridge; five nieces and nephews, Krista, Rusty, Daniel, Kayleigh and Junior; maternal grandmother, Barbara Stanton, of North Carolina; and maternal step-grandmother, Annie Hayward, of Cambridge; three uncles, Curtis Stanton and wife, Kim, of Cambridge; Wayne Stanton and wife, Terry, of Tennessee and Rob Stanton and wife, Becky, of North Carolina; several other aunts, uncles and cousins.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, Mar. 25, 2017, at 1 p.m., at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge. Family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Thomas Funeral Home, P.A., 700 Locust Street, Cambridge, MD 21613 to help defray funeral cost.
