DELMAR - John Frederick Disharoon, 71, died Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at Coastal Hospice at the Lake in Salisbury. Born in Salisbury, he was a son of the late Dorothy S. and John M. Disharoon. He grew up in Delmar and was the youngest mayor ever to serve for the Maryland side of the town. He was also a former Town Council member, life member of the Delmar Fire Dept. and president of Delmar Lions Club. He worked for more than 35 years in sales at Pepsi Cola. He is survived by his wife, Patricia; a daughter, Dawn Rothermel; two granddaughters; a son, John Patrick Disharoon; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a brother, Steve Disharoon. A memorial service was held Saturday, June 11, 2016, at St Stephen's United Methodist Church in Delmar. Arrangements are in the care of Short Funeral Home in Delmar.
