PRESTON - Joan Bowie Rush, 65, of Preston, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2007 at The Memorial Hospital in Easton.

She was born on Dec. 12, 1941 in Elevation, Anne Arundel County, the daughter of the late Walter Bowie and Louise Welch Bowie.

She was a member of the Bethesda United Methodist Church in Preston. She was a homemaker who enjoyed bowling, golf and crocheting. She was a caregiver to the elderly and provided care for her father-in-law for many years.

She is survived by her husband, William A. Rush of Preston; two daughters, Shelly Dulin and her husband, Stacy of Oxford, and Sherry Stoker and her husband, Joe of Harmony; five grandchildren, Jordan, Jacob, Matthew, Tanner, Garrett and Bonnie; three sisters, Betty Bowie of Easton, Delores Dolby of Federalsburg, and Helen Garrett of Linthicum, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a son, Scott Rush; two brothers, Walter Bowie and James Bowie and two sisters, Barbara Wahl and Shirley Bowersox.

A funeral service is planned at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, at the Framptom Funeral Home, P.A., in Federalsburg. The Rev. Joan Wolff will officiate. Burial will follow at the Eastern Shore Veterans' Cemetery in Beulah.

Friends may call the funeral home on Monday from 6-8 p.m.
