HURLOCK - Jeannette Elliott Deane passed away on Thursday, Jul. 6, 2017, at the Coastal Hospice at the Lake in Salisbury, Md.
She was born on Feb. 20, 1922, the daughter of the late Earl Harley and Hattie Florence Elliott.
She was a graduate of Delmar High School class of 1940. She and her husband Percy A. Deane were one of the three founding couples of Grace Baptist Church in Hurlock, where she spent 25 years teaching Sunday School, singing in the choir and participating in the Dorcas Missionary Society. She loved serving her Savior and until recent years the church doors were rarely open without her being there. She was known for sewing clothes for her daughters and grandchildren and loved spending time with her family and her dogs. Anytime she had to go to Cambridge, she wanted to stop at Bay Country Bakery and get donuts. She loved music and was particularly fond of Southern Gospel, hymns and Gaither music.
She is survived by her husband, Percy A. Deane; three daughters, Katherine Bramble and her husband Bobby, Phyllis Pearce and her husband Jay, and Nancy Anderson and her husband Andy; five grandchildren, Deane Benner, Devon Fahner, Rachael Meeks, Adam Price, and Lauren Simms; and nine great grandchildren, Aurora Price, Reagan Schreck, Taylor Simms, Logan Simms, Morgan Simms, Leah Simms, Beau Fahner, Jake Fahner, and Pearce Fahner.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Alvin Elliott; and an infant daughter.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Jul. 15, 2017, at 1 p.m. at the Grace Baptist Church in Hurlock, with the Reverend David Talley officiating. Interment will follow in Unity Washington Cemetery. A calling hour will be held immediately before the service from 12 to 1 p.m. where the family will receive friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you make donations in her memory to Grace Baptist Church, 510 N. Main Street, Hurlock, MD 21643, or to Coastal Hospice at the Lake, P.O. Box 1733, Salisbury, MD 21801.
Services entrusted to the Framptom Funeral Home. For more information visit www.framptom.com
