EAST NEW MARKET - Janice Lee Hayman, of Port Orange, Fla. and East New Market, died Friday, May 9, 2014 at Halifax Health Hospice, Port Orange Care Center. Born May 15, 1945 in Dorchester County, she was the daughter of the late Charles Edward Christopher, Sr. and Martha Harvey Christopher Shores. Janice earned her LPN in nursing, later worked as a Registered Nurse for many years and at the time of her retirement was employed as a Psychiatric RN. She is survived by her husband, Lawrence E. Hayman; two sons, Kenny Walton, Jr. and his wife Chrissy, Christopher Walton and his wife Kristy; a daughter, Jennifer Perry; grandchildren, Cristina Lambert and her husband Joshua, April Perry, Christopher Walton, and Maggie Walton; great-grandson, Archer Lambert; a brother, Jack W. Christopher; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Kenny Walton III; three brothers, Charles Edward Christopher, Jr., Roy L. Christopher and Allie Wayne Christopher; a sister, Shirley A. Andrews. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 14, 2014 from 7:00 to to 9:00 p.m. at the Zeller Funeral Home in East New Market. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 15, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. David Tolley will officiate. Interment will follow in East New Market Cemetery.
