J. Louise Pritchett Bramble, 88
CAMBRIDGE - J. Louise Pritchett Bramble, 88, passed away Thursday, March 20, 2008 at Dorchester General Hospital, with family at her bedside.
She was born on Nov. 18, 1919, in Wingate and was the daughter of the late Hillary V. and Areida Meredith Pritchett. On April 6, 1940, she married Philip L. Bramble Sr., who passed away on Nov. 9, 1991.
Mrs. Bramble had been a homemaker most of her life. She loved to crochet and enjoyed preparing meals for family gatherings.
She was a member of the St. Thomas Church in Bishops Head and a member of the Roelma Chapter 113 of the Order of the Eastern Star.
She had been in failing health for the past few years and a resident at Mallard Bay Care Center until this past Monday.
Mrs. Bramble is survived by two sons, Philip L. Bramble Jr. and his wife, Emma of Bonnie Brook and Glenn L. Bramble and his wife, Judy of Heron Harbor; eight grandchildren, P. Sean Bramble and his wife, Junko of Japan, Crawford Murphy and his wife, Yan of Georgia, Brad Murphy of Hurlock, Julie Wagner and her husband, Josh of East New Market, Amanda Bramble of Cambridge, Paul Murphy of Georgia, Matthew Bramble of Heron Harbor, and Danny Coll and his wife, Chong of Manchester; eight great¬grandchildren, Hana and William Bramble, Victor and Alexandria Murphy, Madalyn and Anna Wagner, and Brenden and Chad Coll; one brother, Edward Pritchett of Florida; two sisters, Dora Murphy of Bishops Head, and Lorraine Phillips of Cambridge; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Karen B. Murphy and a son-in-law, Barry B. Murphy.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday at the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge, with the Rev. Mary Ann Farnell officiating. Members of Roelma Chapter 113 Order of the Eastern Star will conduct a memorial immediately preceding the service. Burial will follow at the Maryland Veterans' Cemetery at Beulah. The family will receive friends during the hour preceding the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Thomas United Methodist Church, c/o Mrs. Donald Mills, 1817 Crocheron Road, Bishops Head, MD 21672.
Pallbearers will be Crawford Murphy, Josh Wagner, Dan Coll, Brad Murphy, Paul Murphy, and Matthew Bramble.
