CAMBRIDGE - Irving S. Holley, 72, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2007, at Dorchester General Hospital.
He was born in East New Market on July 5, 1935, and was a son of the late Raymond C. and Agnes Paul Holley.
Mr. Holley attended school in Dorchester County. On March 17, 1956, he married Barbara Jarrett.
Mr. Holley worked for Dean Furniture Store for 42 years. After that he worked for the Yankee Horse Inc. from 1995 until May of 2007.
Mr. Holley had a love for farming.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Holley of Cambridge; a daughter, Bobbie Ann Phillips and husband, Greg of Cambridge; a grandson, Ryan Phillips of Cambridge; two sisters, Nellie Wheedleton of Cambridge and Helen Dail of Texas; several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Mr. Holley was preceded in death by a sister, Irene Keene and two brothers, Charles Holley and Howard Holley.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, at Greater Works Christian Assembly with the Apostle Solomon Bramble and his wife, Julie and Pastor Thomas Schuyler officiating.
