PRINCESS ANNE — After an enthusiastic response to the Spring Vintage Pop-Up Sale, held the last weekend in May, Somerset Choice Station Antiques in downtown Princess Anne has rallied a team of volunteers to open its second location every Wednesday throughout the summer. The first day is June 10.
Somerset Choice at the Done House, located at 11724 Mansion Street, behind Teackle Mansion, will be open on Wednesdays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., giving customers weekly access to the house filled with a variety of vintage and antiques items, architectural salvage, garden accoutrements, collectibles, books, art, and local ephemera spanning decades.
“Whether looking for true antiques, Midcentury Modern items or quirky, kitsch knickknacks, shoppers are sure to find treasures at the Done House,” one of the volunteers said.
The Sarah Martin Done House, owned by the Somerset County Historical Society, has been open for twice annual sales, one in the spring and one in the fall, for the past several years. Each sale attracts over 200 visitors and generates thousands of dollars in revenue, helping to support much-needed repairs to the house and priority projects managed by the historical society.
Volunteers, led by Sharon Upton and Betsy Schrock, spend countless hours sourcing and staging items for the sale and providing staffing during pop-up sales. Now, shoppers will have new opportunities to visit the historic house, built in 1823 (where the Princess Anne Post Office is today) and check out the ever-changing assortment of vintage and antique items available for sale.
Like Somerset Choice Station, new items will be added to the Done House throughout the summer. Follow Somerset Choice Station on Facebook and @somersetchoice on Instagram for updates and items of interest.
Somerset Choice Station, located at 11731 Somerset Avenue, is open Monday through Saturday, from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. All proceeds benefit the Somerset County Historical Society. For more information, call 410-651-2238.
