Helen Brauchle Asmussen

TRAPPE - Helen B. Asmussen, of Trappe, passed away on Friday, Sept. 3, 2010. She was 83 years old. Born on Feb. 9, 1927, she was the daughter of the late C. Otto Brauchle and M. Emeline Bradley Brauchle of Federalsburg. She graduated from Federalsburg High School in 1944. On Sept. 13, 1957, she married Clifford S. Asmussen, who died July 31, 1991. Helen was a member of the Women of the Moose and held different chairs, becoming Senior Regent of Chapter 1084. She went on to earn her cap and gown and red stole. She will be greatly missed by her black Lab, 'Buddy'. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a dear son, Philip Hans Asmussen in Nov. 1974; and her sister, Florence Pauline McGann in 1984. She is survived by three loving children, Linda Jay Richardson and her husband Michael, Deborah Ann Nentwig and her husband Stephen, and Eric S. Asmussen and his wife Angela; a brother, Carl Otto Brauchle, Jr. and his wife Sharon; two nephews; a niece; and her precious grandsons, William Philip Asmussen and Robert Thomas Asmussen. A funeral service was held on Wednesday, Sept. 8, 2010, at the Fellows, Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral Home, P.A. in Easton, where friends called one hour prior to the service. Burial followed in Whitemarsh Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Talbot Hospice Foundation, 586 Cynwood Dr., Easton, MD 21601.
