Harold Algemon Hollomon, 80
CRISFIELD - Harold Algemon Hollomon, 80, departed this life Saturday, Dec. 23, 2006, at McCready Memorial Hospital in Crisfield.
He was born Dec. 10, 1926, in Portsouth Va., and was the son of the late Herbert B. and Ellen D. Hollomon.
He was married to Florence V. Hodges, and this union was blessed with one daughter, Laura Ann Holloman Draper.
He graduated from I.C. Norcum High School, class of 1944. He attended Norfolk State University and Virginia State University; from which he received a baccalaureate degree in industrial education in 1952. He did graduate work at Salisbury University and Morgan State University.
A professional educator for 37 years, he began his teaching career in 1952 as a industrial arts teacher at Carter G. Woodson High School. In 1977, he became a part-time lecturer in the department of Industrial Education and Technology at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore. He stayed in that position until his retirement in 1988.
He was a member of Union Asbury United Methodist Church. He was a member of the Union Lodge 33 of the Masonic Order in Crisfield. In 1945, he was inducted into the U S. Army.
Those left to cherish his memory are a wife, Florence; a daughter, Laura Ann and son-in-law Draper; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Marianne Dawson (Rodman); and many more relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Union Asbury United Methodist Church in Crisfield. Burial was held in Spring Hill Memory Gardens near Hebron.
Services were entrusted to Anthony E. Ward Funeral Home in Crisfield.
