Glenn L. Bramble Sr.

EASTON - Glenn L. Bramble Sr. died on March 6, 2011. He was 78. Born in Robbins, Md., on May 3, 1932, he was the son of the late Edgar and Emily Engle Bramble. After graduating from Cambridge High School in 1949, he attended Salisbury State Teachers College. Mr. Bramble then attended the Maryland State Police Academy and went on to work for the Maryland State Police from 1957 until 1965. During his time with the State Police, he drove for Governor and Mrs. Tawes. After leaving the police force, he worked for Anderson Lumber Company, Hallowell's Chevrolet, Oldsmobile and Cadillac, and then Johnson Wholesalers serving all of Delmarva prior to his retirement. Mr. Bramble was a member of St. Mark's United Methodist Church. He was an avid fisherman and loved cars, particularly enjoying time spent watching NASCAR. He is survived by his wife, the former Nancy L. Warner, whom he married on Aug. 16, 1968; his sons, Glenn L. Bramble, Jr. (Linda) of Cambridge, and Ruxton R. Bramble (Vicky) of Hurlock; his daughter, Lori R. Bramble (Wayne) of Cambridge; his step-daughter, Ralphy Polito; his grandson, Jason E. Bramble (Amber); his step-grandson, Steve Koeneman; his great-granddaughter, Cassidy Bramble; and his step-great-granddaughter, Alexandra Koeneman. A funeral service was held at 1 p.m., Monday, March 14, 2011, at St. Mark's United Methodist Church, where friends called from noon until 1 p.m. Burial followed at White Marsh Cemetery in Trappe, with Jason Bramble, Steve Koeneman, Stanley Sanders, Wayne Hughes, Michael Higdon and Raymond Higdon serving as pall bearers. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mark's United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, 100 Peachblossom Road, Easton, MD 21601.
