Glenn A. Foxwell, 63, passed away at the Dorchester General Hospital in Cambridge on Tuesday, May 15, 2007.

He was born in Cambridge on Sept. 22, 1943, and was a son of the late Robert Harry and Hazel Amanda Fitzhugh Foxwell.

Mr. Foxwell attended schools in South Dorchester. Some years ago he had worked at the Cambridge Wire Cloth Co. He worked as a truck driver for most of his life first working for the Wheatley Trucking Co. and later for Crown Cork & Seal.

Mr. Foxwell served in the U.S. Army from Jan. 9, 1963, until Jan. 8, 1965, and later served in the Maryland Army National Guard from June 6, 1965, until July 1, 1968.

Mr. Foxwell was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Cambridge.

Some years ago he enjoyed doing field trials with beagles. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

On Jan. 9, 1976, he was married to the former Pamela Newell. He had been in failing health since Christmas and had been a patient at Chesapeake Woods since April and was taken to Dorchester General Hospital on Tuesday morning.

Survivors include his wife, Pamela Foxwell of Cambridge; two daughters, Lisa A. Brooks of Cambridge and Kathy J. Foxwell of Cambridge and her companion, Doug M. Burton Jr. of Cambridge; three grandchildren, Gregory A. Foxwell, Aubree P. Burton and Ashlee N. Burton. He is also survived by two brothers, Bobby W. Foxwell and his wife, Charlotte Foxwell of Brannock's Neck, G. Wayne Foxwell and his wife, Rebecca Foxwell of Lakesville; his mother-in-law, Helen C. Newell of Cambridge; eight nephews and several great-nieces and great-nephews and aunts and uncles.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a grandson, Nathanyel Burton.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday at the Thomas Funeral Home in Cambridge with the Rev. Douglas M. Ridley officiating. Burial will follow at the East New Market Cemetery. The family will receive friends during the hour preceding the service on Friday.

Pallbearers will be Steve Foxwell, Rob Foxwell, Brad Foxwell, Ricky Foxwell, Frank Foxwell, Doug Burton and Gregory Foxwell.
