George W. McCready, 74
CRISFIELD - George William McCready, died Friday, October 2, 2009, in Manokin Manor Nursing Home, Princess Anne. He was 74. Born in Crisfield January 2, 1935, he was a son of the late Elwood Thomas and Rena Collins McCready. He was the owner of the former McCready's Service Station in Crisfield. He was a U.S. Navy Korean War veteran. He was a nature lover who enjoyed watching and feeding squirrels and birds. In his younger years, he was an avid rabbit hunter. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Elwood McCready; and a sister, Geraldine Labo. He is survived by his companion, Karen Barnes; his brother-in-law, Phillip Labo; nephews and niece, Phillip Labo Jr., Pansy Rayfield, Jordan Wayne Labo, Monte Labo, Mark Labo, and Duane Labo; and several great-nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 7, 2009, at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home in Crisfield, where friends may call one hour prior. The Rev. Jerry Hughes will officiate. Interment with military honors will follow in the American Legion Cemetery.
