PRINCESS ANNE - George "Floyd" Henry Jones Jr., 73 died Friday, March 7, 2008 at Salisbury Genesis Eldercare.
Born in Polk's Road, near Princess Anne, he was the son of the late George H. Jones Sr. and Ina Nutter Jones Smack.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1957-1959 receiving an honorable discharge. He was a member of the American Legion, Walter Polk Post 132, Princess Anne.
Mr. Jones was a member of Trinity United Methodist Community Worship Center Curch in Polk's Road.
His survivors include his wife of 49 years, Retta Jones of Princess Anne; three sons, Floyd (Judy) Jones of Philadelphia, Pa., Rodney Jones of Laurel, Md. and Leonardo Jones of Princess Anne; five grandchildren, Kennisha Douglas, Allen and Adam Collilns, Aaron and Nelson Jones; five great-grandchildren; three sisters and two brothers, Beatrice (Freedom) Wheatley, the Rev. Alma E. (Charles) Boulden, Jennifer (Anthony) Williams, John (Portia) Jones and Albert (Nealette) Jones; one stepbrother, Michael and wife, the Rev. Anna Foster; two stepsisters, Audrey Jackson and Judge JoAnn Bayneum; a stepmother, Sarah (Norma Lee) Jones; one aunt, Mary Turner; one sister-in-law, Beatrice (Edward) Bounds and a number of nieces and nephews.
A daughter, Sonia Collins, preceded him in death in 1994.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at Mt. Zion Historical Church in Polk's Road where friends may call tonight from 6-8 and on Saturday during the hour preceding the service. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Funeral services are entrusted to Jolley Memorial Chapel, PA of Salisbury.
