SALISBURY - Gary Angelo Travers Jr. died Thursday, June 21, 2018, at Peninsula Regional Medical Center. Born in Cambridge, he was the son of Gary A. Travers Sr. and Johnette L. Travers. He was a member of Rehoboth Temple of Praise, where he served as a musician and sang with the Sons of Christ. He was employed by Salisbury University as a sexton. In addition to his parents, he is survived by: his wife, D'Shondra Travers; four sons, Gary A. Travers III, Armond J. McKinney, Josiah D. Travers and Jeremyah L. Travers; a daughter, Taliyah R. Travers; a brother, Brandon L. Travers; a sister, JaNay' A.C. Stewart; maternal grandparents, Johnny W. Tilghman and Pastor V. Louise Cornish; paternal grandfather, Kermit Travers Sr.; and several uncles, aunts, nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Katie M. Green. A funeral service was held Saturday, June 30, 2018, at First Baptist Church in Salisbury. Interment was in Green Acres Memorial Park in Salisbury. Arrangements are in the care of Lewis N. Watson Funeral Home in Salisbury.
