Florence Jeanette 'Granny' Robbins
CAMBRIDGE Florence Jeanette "Granny" Robbins, 92, passed away at the Chesapeake Woods Center in Cambridge on Monday, Nov. 5, 2007.
She was born at Bishops Head Point on Aug. 19, 1915, and was a daughter of the late Noble Andrew and Minnie McGlaughlin Bloodsworth.
She had been raised at Crocheron. On Sept. 1, 1934, she was married to Mace Jerome Robbins at the Crapo Parsonage. Mr. Robbins passed away on Aug. 14, 1985.
In her youth she attended Bethany Church at Crocheron and after her marriage she became a member and attended Bounds Church at Robbins. Some years ago she worked at several seafood factories in Crocheron and Wingate and later at the tomato factory at Cain's Ditch for several years. Mrs. Robbins began working at Cambridge Scientific Industries when she was 47 and retired in 1980 at the age of 65. Mrs. Robbins then worked part-time at PJ Seafood in Robbins.
She loved to cook and shared many of her meals with her family and friends. She had been a resident at the Chesapeake Woods Center since August 2004.
Survivors include two brothers, Roger Bloodsworth of Wingate and Curtis N. Bloodsworth and his wife, Ernestine of Cambridge; one grandson, Danny Windsor and his wife, Pat Windsor of Hudson, with whom she had made her home since 1995; two granddaughters, Terry Jones Wheeler and her husband, Duane Wheeler of Cambridge and Betsy Jean Cordrey and her husband, James Lee Cordrey of Seaford; five great-granddaughters, Heidi Jones Gambrill and her husband, Mike Gambrill of Taylors Island, Jennifer Windsor Harrington and her husband, Brian of Drawbridge, Holly Jones Christopher and her husband, Jason Christopher and Heather Windsor, all of Cambridge, and Macey Lee Cordrey of Seaford. She is also survived by two great-grandsons, Brandon Kyle Owens of Cambridge and Justin Cordrey of Seaford; several great-great-grandchildren, Trey Abbe, Brooke Bradley, William Jones, Taylor Short, Jenna Danielle Ausmussen, Brandon Kyle Owens Jr., Brian Chase Harrington and Emma Grace Christopher; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her only daughter, Harriett Rebecca Windsor; a granddaughter, Penny Robin Owens; three sisters, Pauline Bramble North, Ethel Andrews and Edith B. Jones and one brother, William A. Bloodsworth.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Thomas Funeral Home in Cambridge with the Rev. Pam Bockart officiating. Burial will follow at Dorchester Memorial Park. The family will receive friends during the hour preceding the service.

Pallbearers will be Bobby Aaron, James Lee Cordrey, Rex Marshall, Paul Jones, Duane Wheeler, Mike Gambrill and Trey Abbe. Honorary pallbearers will be Elihu S. Abbott, Greg Whitten, Weldon Andrews, Kirk Bloodsworth, Andrew Willey, Bobby Willey, Steve Bloodsworth and Rufus Todd.
