SALISBURY - Eunice Lee Burkett died Monday, Feb. 13, 2017, at Coastal Hospice At The Lake. Born in Salisbury, she was the daughter of the late Edgar Brown and Lola Hopkins Brown. She was a member of the Homemakers, Grace United Methodist Church, Pioneers Telephone Co., Ocean Waves Square Dancing and Delmarva Campers. Early in her life, she worked at DuPont, later she was a volunteer at Peninsula Regional Medical Center and worked for the Wicomico County Board of Elections. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Stuart Burkett; a brother, Ralph Brown; and a granddaughter. She is survived by five children, Kae B. Phippin, of Hebron, Phillip W. Burkett, of Plano, Texas, Vivian B. Smith, of Salisbury, Dana S. Burkett, of Salisbury and Mark T. Burkett, of Chesapeake, Va.; eight grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieves and nephews. A funeral service was held Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2017, at the Holloway Funeral Home in Salisbury. Interment was at Wicomico Memorial Park.
