Euna Frances Dise

TANGIER, Va. - Euna Frances Dise, 100, wife of the late Harry Lee Dise and a lifelong resident of Tangier, Va., passed away on Saturday, Sept. 24, 2011, at the Alice Byrd Tawes Nursing Home, Crisfield, Md. Born June 3, 1911, on Tangier Island, she was a daughter of the late William Kelley and Edna King Kelley. Mrs. Dise was a former cashier at the Chesapeake House, and had kept boarders at her home. She was a member of the Swain Memorial United Methodist Church. Survivors include two daughters, Beulah Wheatley and Kay Thomas, both of Tangier; a step-daughter, Ida Turlington of Weems, Va.; 13 grandchildren; many great and great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Other than her husband and parents, she was predeceased by two sisters, Ruth Crockett and Beulah Parks; a brother, Edward Kelley; and a step-daughter, Doris Crockett. Funeral services will be conducted from the Swain Memorial United Methodist Church on Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2011, at 1:30 p.m. with the Reverend Patricia Stover and Mr. Duane Crockett officiating. Interment will follow in the New Testament Church Cemetery. There will be a visitation at the church on Monday, Sept. 26, 2011, from 7 until 9 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Alice Byrd Tawes Nursing Home Activities Fund, 201 Hall Highway, Crisfield, MD 21817. Memory tributes may be shared with the family at www.williamsfuneralhomes.com. Arrangements by the Williams Funeral Homes, Parksley and Onancock, Va.
