Emily P. Sterling

CRISFIELD - Emily P. Sterling died Saturday, June 22, 2019 at Alice Byrd Tawes Nursing Home.
Born in Crisfield on July 7, 1925, she was a daughter of the late Elwood and Ruby Adams Matthews.
A graduate of Crisfield High School, she was a sales clerk for many years at McCrory's until they closed.
She was a member of Crisfield First Baptist Church and she loved to read.
She is survived by her husband, John Henry Sterling; her niece, Diana Johnson and husband CB; nephews, Jimmy Matthews and Ronnie Matthews; great-niece, Angela Jones; great-great-niece and nephew, Rebeca Jones and Johnathan Wright; and her special friends, Mike and Della Corbin and family, Myrna Humphreys, Sharon Dorman, and Janice Frock.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Charles Matthews; and her sister, Gladys Laird.
Funeral services officiated by the Rev. Jack "Tad" Maroon were Tuesday, June 25, 2019 at 2 p.m. at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home where a viewing was one hour prior. Interment was in Sunnyridge Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to First Baptist Church, 1 S. Somerset Avenue, Crisfield, MD 21817.
