DRAWBRIDGE - Emerson W. Eberspacher, 76, passed away on Friday, Feb. 16, 2007 at the Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury.
He was born at Drawbridge on Aug. 28, 1930 and was a son of the late Frederick Edward and Katherine Metz Eberspacher.
Mr. Eberspacher attended schools at Vienna. On Dec. 15, 1950 he was married to the former Norma Johnson. She passed away on Feb. 18, 2001.
He was engaged in farming in Dorchester County for many years and had retired at the age of 62.
He was a member of Friendship United Methodist Church and had also attended Chateau Community Church. Mr. Eberspacher was a member of the Chicone Ruritan Club as well as the Linkwood Salem Volunteer Fire Co.
He enjoyed gardening and traveling.
He had been in failing health for the past month and had been a patient at the Peninsula Regional Medical Center for the past week.
Survivors include two daughters and their husbands, Cathy E. Winslow and David K. Winslow Jr. of Salisbury, Karen E. Bounds and Kenneth M. Bounds of Laurel, Del.; one son and his wife, Emerson W. "Rusty" Eberspacher Jr. and Lisa T. Eberspacher of Linkwood; six grandchildren: Stephen D. Winslow, Kara E. Winslow, Christopher J. Bounds, Joshua A. Bounds, Todd E. Eberspacher and Carly E. Eberspacher and one great-grandchild, Nicholas A. Bounds. He is also survived by a brother, William H. Eberspacher of Drawbridge and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by a special friend, Joyce Cohee.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a brother, Frederick P. Eberspacher and a sister, Anna Van Cleve.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday at the Thomas Funeral Home in Cambridge with the Rev. Mary Ann Farnell and the Rev. A. Delmer Willey officiating. Burial will follow at Dorchester Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Thomas Funeral Home and also during the hour preceding the service on Wednesday. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, c/o Doris Weber, 5163 Maple Dam Road, Cambridge, MD 21613.
Pallbearers will be Mark Eberspacher, Curtis Eberspacher, Jack Van Cleve, William Short, Mark Frase and Stanley McKenrick.
