Elois Stinson Martin, 74 CAMBRIDGE - Elois Stinson Martin, 74 of Cambridge, departed this life on Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2010, at Chesapeake Woods Nursing Center after a short illness. She was born April 1, 1935, in Cambridge, daughter of Bernice Cornish of Cambridge, and the late Leroy Mathews of Baltimore. Elois worked at various jobs during her life time. She retired from Chun King Inc. where she was employed for 29 years. Elois loved life and enjoyed traveling, spending time with family and friends. She loved to laugh, putting puzzles together, listening to music and family gatherings. She married Joseph "Buddy" Martin of Lansing Michigan on Feb. 5, 1977. They were married for 15 years, but remained close friends. Elois was preceded in death by her grandparents, Ralph and Emma Wing; a son, Kenneth Stinson; a daughter, Lois "BB" Stinson, whom she lovingly cared for at her home for over 15 years until her passing; brother, Randall Cornish; uncle, Percival Wing; nephew, Andrew Cornish; and a niece, Tevis Cornish. She leaves to honor and cherish her memory a devoted mother, Bernice Cornish (Cambridge); a loving daughter, Patricia Hughes (Marvin), Hurlock; two granddaughters, Ursula Hughes (Hurlock) and April Stinson (Dover, Del.); seven great-grandchildren, Dabrianna Green and Jayda Cooper (both of Hurlock, Md.), Tomaya, Roger, Tiana, Ameire and Jaleel (all of Dover, Del.); her loving longtime companion and friend, Joseph "Buddy" Martin; her loving family from Baltimore, Md., who visited her during her six week stay at the University Hospital in Baltimore; and many nieces, nephews and friends to cherish her loving memory. Funeral services were Wednesday, Feb. 3, at Waugh Chapel UM Church, 425 High St., Cambridge. Interment in Beckwith Cemetery. Condolences sent to www.henryfuneralhomepa.com.
