TAYLORS ISLAND - Elmer L. Brannock, died Saturday, Oct. 4, 2008, in Mallard Bay Care Center. He was born Jan. 25, 1925 in Taylors Island , son of the late Rufus and Mary Frances Brannock. He attended school in Taylors Island. Elmer exaggerated the truth and joined the navy at an early age. He fought in World War II on the USS Enterprise. When he returned home he worked at several jobs until his health failed. Elmer loved to sing and he would even try to play the guitar. He loved spending time with family and friends. Elmer was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Calvin Brannock and Albanus Brannock; and three sisters, Margie Ennels, Elizabeth Brannock and Gladys Huzzie. Elmer is survived by a son, Larry Ellis of Baltimore; nieces, Mary Elliott, Donnessa Jackson (Leroy), and Beatrice Robinson, all of Cambridge, Helen Jones (Howard) of Glen Burnie, Shirley Campbell (Lester) of San Francisco, Calif., Doris Johnson (Arnold) of Washingtonville, N.Y., Linda Kennly (Neil) and Ivy Brannock, all of Bronx, N.Y.; nephews, Edward Ennels, Kenneth Ennels (Linda), James Ennels, Bruce Ennels, Carlos Wilson and Elsworth Johnson, all of Cambridge, Tyrone Ennels (Carolyn) of Salisbury, Jerome Ennels (Peggy) of Montgomery, Ala., and Anthony Brannock (Mattie) of Bronx, N.Y.; and several great-nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Henry Funeral Home, PA, 510 Washington St., Cambridge, with a viewing one hour prior to the services.
