CAMBRIDGE - Ellsworth Carlyle Blackburn, 88, died Wednesday morning, April 30, 2008 at Chesapeake Woods Center, Cambridge.

Mr. Blackburn was born in Baltimore, on Feb. 26, 1920.

In the late 1950s he founded Prestige Draperies of Silver Spring. In 1967, the business expanded and his wife, the late Evelyn Seabrease Blackburn, worked with him as vice president. In January of 1987 the Blackburn's sold the business and retired to Twin Point Cove Road, making Cambridge their residency.

Mr. Blackburn was a member of the American Legion Post 91.

On Oct. 1, 2000, his wife Evelyn Seabrease Blackburn passed away.

Surviving is a son, Dennis Carlyle Blackburn and his wife, Linda of Silver Spring; three grandchildren, Karen Suzanne Kochersberger and her husband, Charlie of Hagerstown, Amy Jill Blackburn-Sommers and her husband, Lee of Germantown, David John Skisano of Owings Mills; a great-grandson, Jacob Kochersberger; sister-in-law, Bridget Seabrease of Cambridge; nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death besides, his wife and parents, were a sister and brother-in-law, Kay and Cliff Cahall and brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, Stanley Seabrease, Henry and Annie Seabrease.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday, at Curran-Bromwell Funeral Home, P.A., where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Officiating at the service will be the Rev. Randall Blackmon. Inurnment will be held privately.

Expressions of sympathy may be made by making memorial offerings in Mr. Blackburn's memory to the Neck District Volunteer Fire Department, 954 Cooks Point Road, Cambridge, MD 21613 or to the Alzheimer's Association, 209 Milford St., #C, Salisbury, MD 21804.
