ROCK ISLAND, Ill. - Ellen Johnstone Benner, 59, formerly of Cambridge, passed away on Sunday, June 3, 2007, at the River Park Healthcare Center in Rock Island.

She was born in Altoona, Pa., on Aug. 25, 1947, and was a daughter of the late John Martin and Alma Williamson Weber.

She was born in Pennsylvania and grew up in the Secretary area. Ellen graduated from North Dorchester High School in 1967.

On March 9, 1980, she was married to Frank Edward Johnstone. He passed away on April 6, 1989. She later married Lynvall M. Benner on Oct. 1, 1997. Mr. Benner passed away on May 30, 2001. Ellen had made her home in Iowa and later moved to Rock Island.

Survivors include a daughter, Amy Lanette Duran of Linkwood; one sister, Margaret L. Borga of Cambridge; two brothers, Elmer M. Weber of Hudson and Edward L. Weber of Secretary and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a brother, John D. Weber.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. today at the East New Market Cemetery with the Rev. Kevin E. English officiating.

The family received friends at the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge on Thursday evening.
