TAYLORS ISLAND - Ella Louise Wright, 90, of Taylors Island, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 11, 2011, at Mallard Bay Care Center. She was born on April 12, 1921, in Richmond, Va., and was a daughter of the late William Newton Pemberton and Lena May Pemberton (Garber). In 1926, she moved to Chicago. She attended Bowen High School in Chicago. In 1937 she moved back to Alexandria, Va., and graduated from George Washington High School in Alexandria, Va., in 1939. On Sept. 8, 1951, she married Charles Woodley Wright. Ella and Charles moved to the Philadelphia suburbs shortly after marriage. Summering at Taylors Island, Md., since 1959, Ella and Charles moved permanently to Taylors Island in 1985. She is survived by her husband, Charles Woodley Wright of Taylors Island; her two children, Charles William Wright and Tina Louise Bennett (and husband Tommy Lee Bennett); her two grandchildren, Gregory Charles Wright and Britany Louise Wright, both from Springfield, Pa.; and a brother-in-law, Edward Clark. Besides her parents, Mrs. Wright was preceded in death by a sister, Elizabeth Ida Clark. A memorial service will be Aug. 27, 2011, at 2 p.m., at the Taylors Island United Methodist Church with Rev. Robert G. Kirkley officiating. A reception following at Taylors Island Vol. Fire Station. Memorial donations Alzheimer's Association 1850 York Road, Suite D, Timonium, MD 21093.
