Eleanor Antoinette Smith, 54

DENTON, Md. - Eleanor Antoinette Smith departed this life on April 6, 2009, at University of Maryland. She was 54. Born Feb. 13, 1955, to Ernestine Boulden and the late Leroy Holland Jr. She attended Talbot County Schools and graduated in 1973. She was an employee at Chesterwye, Grasonville, until her death. Eleanor was a friend and confidant to all. She enriched the lives of all that had the pleasure of knowing her. She had a calm and peace that soothed the soul. The time spent with her family and friends were her greatest joy. Especially the time spent with her mother, her "best friend." In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a son, Leroy Holland. Eleanor leaves cherished memories to her husband, Robert L. Smith of Denton; mother, Ernestine Boulden of Easton; two daughters, Shelly I. Boulden of Easton, and Valicia Hopkins (Harry) of Preston; a son, Derrick Wilcox (Nicole) of Dover, Del.; a brother, Royce L Boulden of Frederick; a special niece, Royshonda Boulden of Columbia; two nieces, Michelle Thomas of Hurlock, and Valerie Thomas of Seaford, Del.; a nephew, Linwood Thomas of Seaford; five grandchildren and two godsons; four uncles, Leonard Boulden and James Boulden of Easton, Frank Holland and William Holland of Hurlock; two aunts, Carrie Green of Preston, and Clair Walker of Federalsburg; and a host of cousins and friend; three special cousins whom she thought of as sisters and best friends, Patricia Deshields, Charlene Holland and Cynthia Braxton; a very special companion and best friend she leaves behind her cat "cuddles." Funeral services will be noon Saturday, April 11, at St. Stephens AME Church Unionville with a viewing one hour prior to the services and Friday evening 6-8 p.m. at the church.
