Born in Crisfield on Oct. 4, 2008, he was a son of the late Edward "Bunny" and Lola Wharton Humphreys. He worked many years with his father-in-law, the late John Goldsborough, at Goldsborough's Grocery in Crisfield until their closing. He also owned and operated the former Ye Olde Snack Shop in Crisfield for more than 10 years and retired in 1997 from Eastern Correctional Institution in Westover where he was a dietary officer. A faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Crisfield, he served as Deacon and Trustee at various times and was instrumental in starting the Community Thanksgiving Dinner, which has served people in need for the past 30 years. He was also a member of the former Crisfield Company L, 115th Infantry Army National Guard. Frankie enjoyed gardening, woodworking and fishing, and especially loved spending time with his grandchildren. He was extremely devoted to and loved his family very much. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Myrna Goldsborough Humphreys of Crisfield; three children, Jed Humphreys and wife Annette of Marion, David Humphreys and wife Jennifer of Crisfield and Jennifer Barone of Hebron; five grandchildren, Jordy, Justin, Joshua and Jaime Humphreys and Hunter Barone; his mother-in-law, Mary Goldsborough of Crisfield; a niece, Ellen Holland and husband David of Princess Anne, and their children, Jamie Holland, April Guard and Leah Evans; and numerous cousins. Along with his parents and father-in-law, he was preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law, Lorraine and Robert "Smitty" Smith. Funeral services were Monday at the Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home in Crisfield. Pastors Tad Maroon and Berry McCready officiated. Interment was in Sunnyridge Memorial Park.
